Feeding From My Garden
Morning Journal
I made dinner last night. What was special about making this meal was that the majority of the ingredients came from my own land.
I normally don’t cook at home. My partner does. But last night, she was sick so I wanted to take care of her.
I made an easy dish — noodles with soup and eggs. I used lemongrass, makrut lime leaves, basil, and red chili from the land. No, these herbs didn’t just appear. We planted them last year, and now they are in full bloom. There’s so much of them, it is a lot for the two of us.
I realized how much abundance I now have in my land, and they keep growing. And there are many more herbs and vegetables on our land.
As I was chopping up the herbs for dinner last night, I felt so connected with the plants, the land, and my own life. Some things when sown, will grow.
I feel so supported by the land and the plants.
