Paper Boat in the Ocean

We created a small paper boat as a child, and it floats on a vast ocean.
Enter perspective.
Sometimes, we narrow our entire vision to the size of a paper boat and think that is all there is: a boat on a puddle. There’s nowhere else to go.
As a child, we built this boat because that is what we learned — with hands and paper. And it worked because it floated. It got wet and soggy with time. When it rained, it was no good. Sometimes, when it was sunny, it floated around beautifully, all within a tiny surface area of water.
This boat has us transfixed, throughout our adulthood.
Shift perspective.
Move your eyes away from the boat. And travel with your mind. Zoom out first and see the vastness of the ocean. The boat is actually on an unending ocean, not a puddle. Look at the skies. Many things to see, and imagine: sea life, waves, sun, moon, clouds, rain, ships, islands, etc.
And zoom in on whatever interests you to explore further. Maybe even build something there. Just be sure to zoom out regularly so you don’t miss the holistic view of your life, your reality.
Enjoy your small boat too. You made it. But in no way, let it define you. It is not the microcosm of the ocean where it…
